जानकारी के मुताबिक, पठानमाजरा को पुलिस टीम कुरुक्षेत्र से गिरफ्तार कर पटियाला के सिविल लाइंस थाने ला रही थी. इसी बीच, रास्ते में विधायक और उनके समर्थकों ने पुलिस पर फायरिंग कर दी. गोलीबारी में एक पुलिसकर्मी घायल हो गया. इसके बाद विधायक और उनके साथी एक स्कॉर्पियो और एक फॉर्च्यूनर गाड़ी से फरार हो गए. पुलिस ने पीछा करते हुए फॉर्च्यूनर को पकड़ लिया, लेकिन विधायक स्कॉर्पियो कार में फरार हो गए. पुलिस की टीम लगातार उनका पीछा कर रही है और पंजाब-हरियाणा में जगह-जगह नाकाबंदी कर तलाशी अभियान चलाया जा रहा है.
